Ermon Jewels
A considered wholesale storefront.
Ecommerce
The problem
A wholesale jewellery catalogue serves different situations: an unapproved visitor, an approved trade buyer and a buyer showing products to a retail customer. The appropriate price presentation changes with that context, and it has to remain consistent across product pages, search, quick views and the cart.
The solution
The Shopify theme applies a shared approval check across the visible shopping experience and offers wholesale, retail and no-price display modes for approved customers. Pending customers see an appropriate access message instead of the normal catalogue controls.
The scope is storefront presentation and buying-flow control. A theme cannot make Shopify's underlying product-data endpoints private, so the work is not presented as a secure vault for confidential pricing.
The decisions behind it
- One rule, several shopping surfaces
- A price mode would be inconsistent if a search result or cart preview ignored it. The theme applies the same presentation rules across those entry points.
- Presentation has limits
- Hiding prices in a theme controls the visible experience; it is not equivalent to restricting every source of product data.
- Tailored Shopify storefront
- Approved-customer shopping flow
- Wholesale and retail display modes
