The problem

A transport operator needs one system to move a request through pricing, booking, dispatch, driver execution, customer communication, proof of delivery, invoicing and payment. Handling those stages separately makes every change to a trip a manual reconciliation across the dispatcher, driver, customer and payer.

The operation also has real constraints: assignment depends on proximity, workload, availability, service areas and vehicle suitability; trips can contain timed stops and different evidence requirements; and the passenger or recipient may not be the only payer.

The solution

WOF Dispatch is the transport operation's shared platform for bookings, rules-based pricing, assignment, routes, stops, driver actions, customer updates and finance. Operator, driver and customer experiences expose the relevant part of the same changing trip.

Assignment considers distance and workload alongside vehicle and area checks. The driver interface tracks stops and captures required delivery evidence, while billing shares flow into immediate or later invoices and payments can be allocated across them.

The decisions behind it

Nearest is only one factor
Driver selection also considers workload, vehicle requirements and service boundaries. A close driver is not automatically the right assignment.
A stop has its own completion rules
Drop-off, a photograph, a named recipient and a signature represent different evidence requirements that the driver workflow must honour.
One journey, several payers
Billing shares and payment allocations keep the financial record aligned with who is responsible for each part of a trip.
